Email and Account Access
Postie is an email app that connects directly from your device to your email provider. The current development version does not use a Postie-operated mail backend to relay or store your email. Your provider continues to handle your account and messages under its own privacy policy.
Postie accesses account and message information to display and manage your mail and drafts. Account credentials are stored in the device’s Keychain. Where supported, authorization takes place with your provider. Provider support and approval are still in development.
Data on Your Device
Postie maintains local mail and draft caches so the app can display and work with your messages. This includes email content and associated message information. The final release policy will explain cache retention, account removal, credential deletion, and any backup behavior after those details are verified.
External Content and Optional Lookups
Remote resources in messages are blocked until you consent to load them. Loading external content connects to its host, which may receive your IP address and information included in the requested resource URL.
Optional Gravatar and website favicon lookups can contact third-party services to obtain sender images or website icons. These services receive the network request and the lookup identifier, such as an email-derived hash or domain. An email-derived hash should not be treated as anonymous. These lookups are controlled through app settings.
Analytics, Advertising, and AI
The current app work does not add Postie-operated analytics, advertising, or AI processing of your email. The landing page does not include analytics scripts, advertising, or sign-in forms.
This Website
This website is intended to be hosted on Netlify. Visiting a hosted page sends normal request information, such as your IP address and browser information, to the hosting provider. Hosting settings, log retention, and any applicable international processing details must be confirmed before this policy is finalized.
Your Choices and Questions
You can choose whether to load remote message resources and whether to use optional image lookups. Your email provider manages its own account-access controls and privacy requests. Postie’s operator identity, privacy contact, applicable rights, and request process will be included in the final policy before release.
